Prague - Day 3, Prague is such an amazing city, we spent the whole day wondering down narrow streets and alleyways, exploring lots of nooks and crannies, constantly being surprised at the sights and the architecture.
We also had a tour of the Klementinum, Baroque Library Hall and Astronomical Tower where we had the most stunning views after having to climb 185 steps!!
Following this we walked across the famous Charles Bridge and visited the historic Prague castle and palace, which involved quite a lot more step climbing so we were well and truly over steps by the end of the day, especially once we got back to our apartment and having to climb another 3 flights - with all our shopping, by the way shopping is really interesting when you have no idea what the labels say!
Amazing buildings and alleyways
Super cool buskers
Prague Baroque Library, a picture of this library has been our computer background wallpaper for the last 5 years so it was great to see this in real life.
The views from the top of the astronomical tower, definitely worth the climb!!
The stroll across Charles Bridge took half an hour,
there were just so many things to look at.
This is Prague’s oldest bridge, was begun in 1357 by Charles IV and was completed in 1402. The bridge is built of sandstone blocks, flanked at each end by fortified towers (Lesser Town Bridge Towers, Old Town Bridge Tower). From 1683 30 statues of saints were carved to decorate the bridge, the most famous of which is the statue of St John of Nepomuk.

Of course the city is dotted with Cathedrals, of which we visited 2 today. You could spend days just visiting cathedrals, some how I think the children would start a revolt if we even attempted to do so.
