Austria - Day 4, Well, according to our boys we could almost pack our bags and go home, surely there is no way today could be bettered in their eyes - swords, shields, doppelhaken guns, armour, artillery and muskets, how could this be out shone!
We drove to the city of Graz primarily to visit the 'The Styrian Armoury Museum', this is the world's largest historic armoury. It holds approximately 32,000 pieces of weaponry, tools, suits of armour for battle and ones for parades. Once there we were given a one hour tour which explained the history and the collection, and how the weapons were used. The boys were totally and utterly enthralled. After the tour they were let lose with cameras and poor Mum and Dad had to try to pick out a handful from the nearly 400 photos taken.
We were also unexpectedly surprised at the beauty of the inner city and enjoyed particularly ducking into little entrance ways that would lead to delightful hidden court yards.
Definitely a day to remember!

Caleb loved the cellos!
Our day wouldn't have been complete without climbing untold steps to get to a good vantage point for the view from the clock tower. The girls had to be enticed with the promise of an ice cream but it was definitely worth the expense😜!
In Austria they don't make roads over or around mountains but rather they go underneath, we have never driven through so many tunnels, one up to 8.5 km in length! (and with a toll of 9 euros one way you wouldn't want to do that every day🙀)
Wow, those cellos do look pretty cool - I agree with Caleb!
