Holland - Day 4

Holland - Day 4 Today was the day for biking, the sun was out, the wind was pretty well non existent and thanks to the generosity of family and friends of family we all had bikes to ride, helmet free!!!
We had a relaxing day meandering down little country roads and cycle paths. Nearly every farm house was begging to be photographed and much to the delight of the boys the tractors were out and about in full force, busy working the fields.
The tree lined country lanes were stunning. It was just a magical time enjoying the sights and riding on he beautifully laid out cycle ways.
One thing that was really noticeable is how neat and tidy everything is compared to NZ, even on the farms everything is neat and orderly - no clapped out cars or machinery to seen, no over grown gardens, even the verges of the paddocks are neatly trimmed. Everything is neatly put away in its place and well tended.

Heading off on our ride, the weather was superb!

Biking down country lanes

Olivia enjoyed every minute of the ride, our lady of leisure.

A couple of the multitude of farm houses we rode past.

Samuel managed to get a puncture, we had a repair kit but no pump, therefore we needed to go to a farm house to ask for one. The amazing thing was that the couple that were in the house were selling up to move to NZ with their children in the coming year and they have asked us to pop around for a cuppa to chat some more about NZ as they are so excited about going!   Nothing happens in this world by chance! God has a plan and purpose for everything, even the unplanned events that may happen along life's path.

Eating Botter Koek whilst having a break - thank you Tante Jackie, it was yummy!

Such a quintessential picture of Dutch farming, lots of happy cows on lush green fields.

The children's favorite computer game back home is farming simulator, so much to their delight nearly every "Mod" and "Tractor" featured on this game was driving around for real through out the country side of Europe, they could recite every tractors brand, model number and horse power!!! (even Olivia and Annelise!)
